Arrowmont's Artist-in-Residence program began in 1991 and is designed to provide pre-professional, self-directed artists time and space to develop a major body of work in a creative community environment of students and visiting faculty.

Five artists are selected annually to participate in the 11-month program that begins mid-June and continues through the end of May the following year. One position is designated for a woodturner through the Robyn and John Horn Woodturning Resident Endowment.

Pollard Living Quarters - Each resident has a private bedroom and bath in the lower level of Pollard Dorm with shared living room, dining area and kitchen.

ArtReach is one of three community programs designed to give residents an opportunity to explore teaching and expose local students to art-related careers.

Each artist has a studio space just a short walk from their home on Arrowmont's campus.
