Overview

Step into the delightful world of miniatures and learn how to create incredibly realistic, trompe-l'oeil food from polymer clay. This hands-on workshop, open to all skill levels, is perfect for anyone interested in crafting pieces for a dollhouse or one-of-a-kind jewelry. You will learn essential techniques, including how to mix custom polymer clay colors to achieve lifelike food tones, create tiny molds for repeatable shapes, and master the tips and tricks for making millefiori canes. The class will also cover cold finishing techniques to bring your miniature creations to life. Magnifiers will be provided to help you with the fine details. This workshop is open to ages 16+.

This workshop will be held for 3 consecutive weeks on Tuesday and Thursday from 5:30-8:30PM. In addition, student can choose to participant in open studio hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:00-5:00PM ahead of the scheduled workshop time.

Workshop Details

  • The workshop runs for 3 consecutive weeks on Tuesday and Thursday (2/17-3/5)
  • Class runs 5:30PM-8:30PM
  • Studios are open 12:00PM-5:00PM prior to workshop start Tuesday & Thursday (2/19-3/5)

Material fees are not included in our national workshop costs, but are included with the cost of our winter short workshops. A material list with estimated costs will be emailed about 30 days before the national workshop begins.

Artist Bio
Jenn Cole
Jenn Cole is a ceramic artist and curator in Middle Tennessee, where she works as a full-time potter. She received her BFA in Ceramics from Ohio University. Cole was a resident artist at The Iowa Ceramics Center and Glass Studio, The Red Lodge Clay Center, Appalachian Center for Craft and most recently Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts. She exhibits her work across the country and worked as the gallery manager at The Appalachian Center for Craft and as Curator of Exhibitions for The Red Lodge Clay Center. Her pottery is on display at ClayAKAR in Iowa, Red Lodge Clay Center, Schaller Gallery in Michigan, Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, John C. Campbell Folk School, and Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts.
