Community Workshops

Community workshops provide families, youth (ages 5+) and adults with the opportunity to learn arts and crafts on Arrowmont’s historic campus, in as little as 3 hours! Discover the joy of making in media like woodworking, fiber arts, jewelry, clay, and more.

About Community Workshops

For over 35 years, Arrowmont has enriched the local community with short winter workshops, offering our renowned instruction and professional studios in a family-friendly format. These classes foster connection through intergenerational, youth, and adult learning – including popular Parent & Me classes (ages 5-6) during our family day workshops.

  • Open to all skill levels, workshops run from a few hours to more advanced multi-day sessions.
  • Workshops start at $18, and include material fees in the cost.
  • Family Days & Craft Nights include a meal (lunch or dinner) in the cost.
  • Adult 3-day workshops include studio access before workshop start time.

We’re seeking enthusiastic instructors, living within 150 mi of Gatlinburg, for our popular winter community workshop series. Running December 2026 through April 2027, these family-oriented workshops are a great way to expand your teaching repertoire and build community with the Arrowmont students and staff. If you’re passionate about woodworking, fiber arts, metals, jewelry, clay, textiles, papermaking, bookmaking, or other craft media, we invite you to submit your workshop proposals. Inspire makers of all ages and skill levels in the heart of the Smoky Mountains.
