Virtual ArtReach
Virtual ArtReach brings traditional Appalachian Arts and Crafts into your classroom FREE! Through immersive instruction we are ensuring cultural heritage is transferred between generations, guaranteeing the future of Appalachian arts & crafts for all.
Crafting Through Partnership
Arrowmont has always recognized the need to protect and preserve Appalachian arts and crafts. As technology changes every aspect of our lives many traditional craft methods are being lost to time. Now, more than ever, it is imperative that we connect traditional practitioners with students of all ages and skill levels.
Virtual ArtReach provides free pre-packaged supply kits and video workshops for students and classes we are unable to visit in-person. Originally introduced in 2019, the popularity and demand for this program quickly grew as schools grappled with the impacts of COVID-19 and subsequent school closures.
Today Virtual Artreach kits are sent to 6 Central Appalachian states, reaching over 3,000 students (4-12th grade) each year!
