Woodturning FUNdamentals

Kimberly Winkle・Woodturning・Summer Legacy July 12-17, 2026

Workshop Description

This workshop is dedicated to learning the FUNdamentals of woodturning in an open and sharing atmosphere. Whether a beginner or a student looking to improve current skills, this workshop will guide students through proper tool selection, sharpening, safety, and technique, helping them realize the possibilities of turning. Students will learn both spindle turning (for projects like candlesticks) and faceplate turning (for projects like a small footstool). Aspects of design and surface embellishment, such as paint and texture, will also be explored. Students will leave with the basic turning skills necessary to confidently tackle a variety of turning projects at home.
