Maine-based jeweler Cat Bates has developed a signature style that is hard to miss. His fierce commitment to durability, originality, and ease-of-wear define a unisex collection that is at once strikingly distinctive and tastefully understated. Hand-braided cords are spliced & assembled with original closures, sand-cast rings bear the rich surface texture of their making, and laser-cut clasp components grace handmade chains. Virtually every component of every piece that leaves Cat's studio is designed and made from scratch. Cat received his BFA from Maine College of Art in 2009, and has since taught workshops on sand casting at Penland School of Crafts and Peter’s Valley School of Crafts. He works full-time designing, creating, marketing, and selling his line of fashion jewelry.
