Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts presents an exhibition of works created by the 2021 – 2022 Artists-in-Residence: Elizabeth Belz, Horacio Casillas, Kyle Cottier, Naomi David Russo and Lena Schmid.
In a year like no other, these five artists have been living and working together in the intimate environment of shared housing and adjoining studios. The pieces on view were created during the course of the residency and represent a wide breadth of material and conceptual approaches. Working within the mediums of sculpture, ceramics, metal-working, wood-working and painting, these five artists draw inspiration from a range of sources, including religion, the body, time, play, and patterns and forms found in nature. The work on display is not reflective of any one particular viewpoint, but rather is in accordance with the multiplicity of practices shared at Arrowmont.
