Hand Sew a Powershield Portal: Meditative Stitching & Embellishment

July 19 - 24, 2026
Open to All Skill Levels
Textiles, Fibers, Mixed Media, Embroidery

Overview

This workshop offers a peaceful, meditative process centered on hand sewing to create a quilted panel known as a "Powershield Portal." Students will begin with cross-stitching as the focal point, then choose geometric shapes in vibrant colors to layer, hand stitch, embroider, and embellish with various beads and buttons. The careful process of choosing materials is an integral part of the meditation. Panels can be bound as stand-alone pieces or added to a larger project. Powershields are a visual representation of energy particles designed to absorb and transform negative energy into positive vibes, giving students a meaningful and beautiful final piece.
