Welcome to Kelli Fisher, Arrowmont’s first Kenneth R. Trapp Intern. The Kenneth R. Trapp Assistant Curator Internship is a new opportunity, awarded annually to an early career curator, arts researcher, or art historian.
Kelli Fisher received her MA in art history and museum studies at Syracuse University. Fisher’s research focuses on nineteenth- and twentieth-century American art, past museum practice, illustrations, and representations of marginalized groups. She served as teaching assistant in the School of Design, where she received an outstanding teaching assistant award. She worked as a gallery assistant at Point of Contact Gallery. Kelli curated Mary Petty: A Reader’s Privilege, A Woman’s Place for the Syracuse University Art Museum, and received the Louise B. and Bernard G. Palitz Art Scholar award for 2021.

Palitz Art Scholar award for 2021.She interned for the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Menconi + Schoelkopf Fine Art Gallery, and the Everson Museum of Art where she received opportunities to research and write about the rich craft ceramic traditions in the nineteenth and twentieth century. Fisher received the Catlin Prize in Museum Studies in 2022, an award that denotes an exceptional graduating student in the M.A. museum studies program. She is excited to begin work as the Kenneth R. Trapp Craft Assistant Curatorial Intern. She will reside at Arrowmont June 2022 – May 2023.
