Artist Bio
David Wischer
David Wischer is an artist and educator based in Lexington, Kentucky, where he is an Associate Professor of Digital and Print Media at the University of Kentucky. His work combines screen printing, monotype, collage, and animation to explore humor, pop culture, and the absurdities of everyday life. He has exhibited widely at national and international venues, including the Center for Book Arts in New York and the International Print Center New York. Wischer has completed prestigious printmaking residencies at the Center for Contemporary Printmaking in Connecticut, Black Church Print Studio in Dublin, and the Royal Academy of Fine Art in Belgium. He earned his MFA in Printmaking from Purdue University and has taught workshops in printmaking and animation at universities, conferences, and community studios.

Explore the 2D Arts Studio
Located in the historic West Building, the 2D Studio is a bright, multi-use room for all 2D related workshops at Arrowmont. Ideal for our printmaking, bookmaking, and painting or drawing classes, there’s plenty of room for groups of up to 20. A small outdoor courtyard offers a shaded place of respite or an extended outdoor instruction space.
