Intention & Intuition: Clarifying Your Creative Practice

November 1 - 6, 2026
Open to All Skill Levels
Special Topics, Writing

Overview

This workshop invites students to strengthen their artistic practice by clarifying their creative intentions and learning to trust their intuition. This workshop is ideal for artists eager to question and deepen their creative motivations. Through daily writing exercises, material explorations, slide presentations, and discussions, students will build a deeper understanding of what drives their work. Workshop activities include group critiques, one-on-one consultations, hands-on studio projects, and a research exercise in Arrowmont's extensive library. Students will explore how their lived experiences, material choices, and artistic influences inform their practice. Students can expect to leave the workshop with a mental toolkit filled with practical strategies and reflective practices to keep them actively engaged in the studio long after the course ends.
