Artist Bio
Geoffrey Gorman
Geoffrey Gorman is a sculptor based in New Mexico known for his imaginative animal figures created from found materials, reclaimed wood, and discarded objects. After two decades working as a gallery dealer, arts writer, and curator, he transitioned to making art full-time, developing a distinctive practice that blends storytelling, humor, and reverence for nature. His sculptures often evoke totemic or mythical creatures, exploring themes of transformation and resilience. Gorman's work has been exhibited nationally and internationally in galleries and museums, and he frequently teaches workshops that encourage creative reuse and personal narrative through materials. He draws significant inspiration from the landscapes and wildlife of New Mexico.

Explore the Sculpture Studio
Located on the second floor of the Turner Building, the Sculptural Studio is steps from our Library & Resource Center and next to the Sandra J. Blain Galleries. The flexible nature of this studio makes it ideal for multimedia and sculpture classes where different types of media are being used. Adjacent to the Metals Studio our enamel classes and cold work, glass techniques are often taught in this space, allowing for a free flow of tools and equipment between the two workshops.
