Material fees are not included in our national workshop costs, but are included with the cost of our winter short workshops. A material list with estimated costs will be emailed about 30 days before the national workshop begins.

Artist Bio
Michelle Im
Michelle Im is a Korean American artist working in Queens, New York. ‘RATxCHICKS’ (pronounced as “ratchix”) is a project name for her ceramics that is a play on the words ‘ratchet’ and ‘rad chicks’. She graduated with a degree in biology and art from the State University of New York at Buffalo. She was named one of Ceramic Monthly’s 2022 Emerging Artists and was an award recipient of the American Craft Council’s 2022 Emerging Artist Cohort Program and a grant recipient of the Center for Craft’s Teaching Artist Cohort in 2023. She was a Visiting Artist-in-Residence at the Archie Bray Foundation for the Ceramic Arts in 2022 and was selected for a Distinguished Fellowship at Penland School of Craft during her winter residency in 2023. In summer of 2023, Michelle was invited as a guest artist to organize a themed residency around ‘Collectivity’ at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts. She is currently a faculty member at Greenwich House Pottery in Manhattan, New York.

Explore the Ceramics Studio
Located in the historic West Building, the Ceramic Studios are a multi-room complex dedicated to all our clay loving students. Featuring both a wheel throwing studio and hand-building studio, shared spaces between these classrooms include a hot box, electric kiln room, train kiln yard (soda and wood firing), and glaze room. With dedicated, professional studio staff on-hand to assist, Arrowmont is prepared to meet every knead – err need.
