Multi-Part Vessels: From Pitchers to Jars

In this workshop, students will focus on developing an intimate and intuitive connection with the material and an open, generous approach to technique, resulting in pottery that comes alive with clarity and purpose. The workshop centers on creating multi-part pieces across a range of sizes and forms. Students will investigate how to combine elements to create complex vessels, from sectionally thrown pitchers to large jars. Utilizing time-honored techniques such as throwing off-the-hump, coiling, paddling, and combining thrown forms, students will create both large and small vessels. This workshop is open to all levels, but basic throwing skills will be very helpful for participants.
