Material fees are not included in our national workshop costs, but are included with the cost of our winter short workshops. A material list with estimated costs will be emailed about 30 days before the national workshop begins.

Artist Bio
Stephen Biggerstaff
Stephen Biggerstaff is a ceramic artist with a passion for creating functional pottery in a bespoke "ragrug" style. With a career spanning several decades and private studios in North Carolina and South Carolina, his work is known for its unexpected colors and decorative surface treatments. He has served as an instructor assistant at renowned craft schools such as Arrowmont, Penland, and the Appalachian Center for Craft. His extensive training includes classes with celebrated artists like Lana Wilson and Cynthia Lee. From 2018 to 2022, his work was exhibited at the Odyssey Gallery of Ceramic Arts in Asheville, North Carolina.
Explore the Ceramics Studio
Located in the historic West Building, the Ceramic Studios are a multi-room complex dedicated to all our clay loving students. Featuring both a wheel throwing studio and hand-building studio, shared spaces between these classrooms include a hot box, electric kiln room, train kiln yard (soda and wood firing), and glaze room. With dedicated, professional studio staff on-hand to assist, Arrowmont is prepared to meet every knead – err need.
