Artist Bio
Aaron Hammer
Aaron Hammer is an award-winning artist who was born in Kansas City and has lived and worked in Hawai’i for 32 years. Working with previously-felled Hawai’i-grown trees, Aaron feels a deep responsibility to fully utilize the precious logs that come to him by creating unique gift items and one-of-a-kind heirloom quality vessels. Giving new life to fallen trees is a joy for him. Aaron is a skilled and accomplished teacher who has a deep love for sharing the ancient and magical art of woodturning with others. He has taught at several institutions including Arrowmont School of Arts and Crafts, Pratt Fine Art Center in Seattle, and presented at the largest woodturning festival in Europe in Saxony, Germany, in May 2024. Aaron's work can be found in the collections of The Museum of Art in Wood, Helen Drutt-English, Garrison Keillor, George Clooney, and His Holiness The Dalai Lama. His current work can be found in fine art galleries throughout the Hawaiian islands.
