Artist Bio
Elizabeth Weber
Born and raised in Tennessee, Elizabeth Weber first specialized in engineering, earning an M.S. in civil engineering from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville and working in several engineering jobs. In 2012, she moved to Seattle, WA, and in 2015 decided to nurture her artistic side through woodworking. Her first creations included several pieces of furniture in the Arts & Crafts style, but she eventually turned to smaller objects and now specializes in bowls, spoons, and boxes. Her skills range from natural finish and simple forms to highly carved and painted forms that emulate natural motifs. She is the American Association of Woodturner’s 2023 POP Artist Showcase recipient and has taught and demonstrated at schools and woodturning clubs across the country. She also helps run the Seattle Spoon Club, and serves on the Seattle Woodturners board as their program director and Women in Turning liaison.

Artist Bio
Scarlette Rouse
Scarlette Rouse is a retired farmer and wood artist from Seven Springs, North Carolina, where she and her husband continue to raise beef cattle and hay. Her passion for wood began in her teens through refinishing furniture, but she fell in love with woodturning after seeing it demonstrated on television. After initially struggling, she committed herself to learning by joining a larger club and taking every available workshop. This experience inspired her to become an instructor, with the mission of teaching students "what they needed to know before they knew they needed to know it." Scarlette has built her expertise by taking classes and assisting other woodturners, later venturing into other woodworking arts like making cutting and charcuterie boards, and bandsaw boxes. Her philanthropic work creating hundreds of boxes for seriously ill children introduced her to carving, woodburning, and surface painting - arts she has since immersed herself in and incorporated into all of her creative works.
